The QW Submersible Sewage Pump is a vertical, non-clog pump designed for wastewater containing suspended solids, short fibers and soft waste. Its motor and pump share one compact shaft assembly. Therefore, the complete unit can operate while submerged in a sewage pit, collection tank or drainage well.
A wide-flow impeller helps reduce clogging and winding. Meanwhile, the sealed submersible motor supports quiet and space-saving operation. The pump is suitable for municipal projects, industrial plants, commercial buildings, construction drainage and wastewater treatment systems.
As a sewage pump manufacturer, we supply cast iron and stainless steel versions. We can also match the motor, discharge size, impeller, cable, protection system and installation method to each project.

Non-Clog Impeller Design
The QW Submersible Sewage Pump can use a single-channel, double-channel or vortex impeller. Each design provides a large flow path. As a result, the pump can handle sewage containing paper, mud, short fibers and soft solids.
Selected models can pass solids with a diameter of about 50% of the discharge size. They may also handle fibers with a length of up to five times the pump connection diameter. However, actual passage size depends on the impeller and pump model.
A vortex impeller is useful when reduced contact with solids is needed. In contrast, a channel impeller often provides higher hydraulic efficiency. Our engineers select the impeller according to the type and amount of waste in the liquid.

Reliable Motor and Seal Protection
The motor is enclosed in a sealed housing and rated for submerged operation. In addition, a double mechanical seal separates the pumped liquid from the motor chamber. The seal faces can be made from tungsten carbide or silicon carbide for better wear resistance.
An oil chamber cools and lubricates the mechanical seal. It also forms an added barrier between the wastewater and motor. For larger pumps, optional oil-chamber leakage sensors and winding temperature sensors can provide early fault warnings.
A matched control cabinet can offer:
- Overload protection
- Phase-loss protection
- Short-circuit protection
- High-temperature alarm
- Seal-leakage alarm
- Automatic start and stop
- High-level warning
- Single-pump or multi-pump control
Cast Iron and Stainless Steel Options
Cast iron is the standard choice for municipal sewage, rainwater and general industrial wastewater. It offers good strength and cost control.
For wastewater with greater corrosion risk, stainless steel 304 or 316 can be selected. The stainless steel models shown in the product range are suitable for food processing, chemical wastewater and other duties where clean surfaces or better corrosion resistance are required.
Before selecting materials, customers should provide the liquid pH, chloride level, temperature and chemical content. QW pumps are not intended for highly abrasive, strongly corrosive, flammable or explosive liquids unless a special design is approved.
Installation Options
A portable installation uses a support base and a flexible discharge hose. Therefore, the pump can be moved between pits or construction sites. This option is useful for temporary drainage and emergency pumping.
A fixed automatic-coupling system uses guide rails and a discharge base installed at the bottom of the wet well. The pump can be lowered into position from ground level. Its discharge then connects to the base without workers entering the pit. Consequently, removal and maintenance are safer and faster.
Float switches or level sensors can also start and stop the pump as the water level changes.

Understanding the Model Number
A model such as 80QW40-15-4 normally represents:
- 80: discharge diameter of 80 mm
- QW: submersible sewage pump series
- 40: rated flow of 40 m³/h
- 15: rated head of 15 m
- 4: motor power of 4 kW
Model coding may vary for custom products. Therefore, the approved data sheet should be checked before purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a QW pump handle solid waste?
Yes. It is designed for wastewater containing suspended solids and short fibers. However, the permitted solid size depends on the pump model and impeller.
Can the pump run without being submerged?
Standard models should remain submerged enough to cool the motor. Dry operation is not allowed unless a cooling-jacket version has been specifically selected.
Is stainless steel available?
Yes. Stainless steel 304 and 316 versions are available for selected models and corrosive wastewater duties.
Can the pump start automatically?
Yes. Float switches, level sensors and a control cabinet can start and stop the pump according to the liquid level.
