The FZB fluoroplastic self-priming pump transfers corrosive liquids from tanks, pits, drums, and other low-level sources. Its self-priming structure helps lift liquid into the pump after the casing is filled for the first start. Therefore, it is a practical choice when the liquid level is below the pump inlet.

Jingjiang Xiangsu Pump Industry Co., Ltd. manufactures FZB pumps for chemical plants and industrial fluid systems. We match the pump size, lining, seal, motor, and base to each duty point. As a result, customers receive a pump that fits both the liquid and the process.

Representative Technical Parameters

The pictured unit has a visible DN65 discharge connection. Therefore, its structure is consistent with an 80FZB(L)-class configuration.

Item Typical Specification
Reference model 80FZB(L)
Pump type Horizontal self-priming centrifugal pump
Rated flow 30–45 m³/h
Rated head 25–30 m
Motor power 7.5 kW
Rated speed 2,900 rpm
Inlet × outlet DN80 × DN65
Maximum suction height About 4 m
Standard liquid temperature Below 90°C
Wetted material F46 fluoroplastic lining
Shaft seal Mechanical seal
Installation Base-mounted with motor and coupling guard

These values are typical reference data. Actual performance depends on liquid density, viscosity, temperature, vapor pressure, suction pipe design, and motor frequency. Therefore, the final model should be selected from the required flow and head.

Strong Protection Against Corrosion

The pump uses a strong metal outer casing with a fluoroplastic lining on the wetted surfaces. This design combines the strength of metal with the chemical resistance of fluoroplastic.

F46 is suitable for many acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents. In addition, PVDF or reinforced polypropylene options may be available for some working conditions. However, material compatibility must always be checked against the liquid concentration and temperature.

Typical wetted parts include:

  • Fluoroplastic-lined pump casing
  • Fluoroplastic impeller
  • Corrosion-resistant pump cover
  • Selected mechanical seal faces
  • PTFE, FKM, or other suitable gaskets

Reliable Self-Priming Operation

The FZB pump uses a liquid recirculation chamber to remove air from the suction line. First, the pump casing must be filled with liquid. Then, after startup, the rotating impeller mixes the stored liquid with air from the inlet pipe. The air is discharged, while the liquid stays in the casing. As a result, the pump creates suction and draws liquid into the system.

In many systems, the casing keeps enough liquid for the next start. Therefore, repeated filling may not be needed. However, if the pump has been drained or left unused for a long time, the operator should check and refill the casing before startup.

Suitable Liquids and Industries

The FZB fluoroplastic self-priming pump is designed mainly for clean or lightly contaminated chemical liquids. Common media include diluted or concentrated acids, alkalis, salt solutions, pickling liquid, plating solution, and selected solvents.

Typical applications include:

  • Chemical production
  • Acid and alkali transfer
  • Tank unloading
  • Electroplating lines
  • Metal pickling systems
  • Pesticide production
  • Pharmaceutical processing
  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Waste liquid collection
  • Paper and textile plants

The standard pump is not intended for large solids or highly abrasive slurry. Therefore, a suction filter should be installed when particles may enter the pipe.

Installation and Startup

Install the pump on a firm, level foundation. Also, keep the suction pipe short and direct. Every suction joint must be airtight because even a small air leak can reduce priming performance.

Before the first start, fill the pump casing with liquid. Next, check the motor rotation and open the required valves. Never run the pump dry, since dry running can damage the mechanical seal and fluoroplastic parts.

For better results, reduce sharp bends in the suction pipe. In addition, keep the actual suction height within the selected pump limit. Hot liquids, dense fluids, and liquids with high vapor pressure may reduce the available suction height.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the pump need priming before startup?

Yes. Fill the casing before the first start or whenever the stored liquid has been lost.

Can the pump run without liquid?

No. Dry running can quickly damage the mechanical seal and internal parts.

Can it transfer sulfuric or hydrochloric acid?

F46 is compatible with many acid solutions. However, concentration, temperature, and impurities must be checked before model selection.

What affects the self-priming height?

Pipe length, air leaks, liquid temperature, density, viscosity, and installation height all affect priming performance.

Can the motor specification be customized?

Yes. Voltage, frequency, protection level, efficiency class, and explosion-proof options can be matched to the project.
