The IH chemical centrifugal pump is a single-stage, single-suction pump designed for transferring clean, corrosive liquids. Its axial suction structure provides stable flow, while the corrosion-resistant wet-end design supports demanding industrial processes.

The pump is suitable for liquids without solid particles and with a viscosity close to water. It can handle media from -20°C to 105°C. When suitable cooling measures are added, it may also be configured for higher operating temperatures.

Jiangsu Xiangsu Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. supplies IH chemical pumps in a wide range of sizes and performance levels. Materials, sealing systems, motors, and supporting components can be selected according to the medium and site conditions.

IH Chemical Pump Performance Range

The IH series covers a broad range of flow and head requirements. Therefore, it can support both small process systems and larger industrial transfer lines.

Parameter Available Range
Flow capacity 0.3–400 m³/h
Head 5–125 m
Rotational speed 1450 or 2900 r/min
Motor power 0.55–90 kW
Inlet diameter 50–200 mm
Medium temperature -20°C to 105°C
Maximum working pressure 1.6 MPa
Pump structure Single-stage, single-suction
Suction direction Horizontal axial suction
Discharge direction Vertical upward discharge

Actual performance depends on the pump model, impeller diameter, rotational speed, motor selection, liquid properties, and operating point. Detailed model selection should be completed using the required flow, head, temperature, density, viscosity, and corrosion conditions.

Designed According to ISO 2858

The IH chemical process pump is designed according to the performance and dimensional principles of ISO 2858. This standardized design makes it easier to plan piping layouts, compare pump sizes, and manage equipment replacement.

The series includes 40 basic pump models. Through dual-speed options and A or B impeller trimming, the range can be extended to as many as 112 specifications. As a result, buyers can select a pump closer to the required duty point instead of using an oversized system.

The model code also provides clear size information. For example, in “IH 50-32-160A,” the numbers indicate the inlet diameter, outlet diameter, and nominal impeller diameter. The letter “A” identifies an impeller that has undergone its first diameter reduction.

Back Pull-Out Structure for Easier Maintenance

The pump includes a casing, pump cover, impeller, shaft, sealing ring, middle support, shaft seal, bearing assembly, and base frame.

It uses a back pull-out structure with an extended coupling. During routine maintenance, technicians can remove the middle coupling section and withdraw the rotor assembly without disconnecting the pump casing from the pipeline. In many installations, the motor can also remain in place.

This structure helps reduce maintenance time and makes inspection of the impeller, shaft, bearings, and mechanical seal more convenient. In addition, two single-row radial ball bearings support the pump shaft and absorb radial and axial loads during operation.

Flexible Shaft Seal Options

Different chemical processes require different sealing arrangements. For this reason, the IH corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump can be configured with packing seals or mechanical seals.

Available sealing solutions may include:

  • Soft packing seal
  • Single mechanical seal
  • Double mechanical seal
  • Balanced mechanical seal
  • Unbalanced mechanical seal
  • External flushing arrangement

A packing chamber can receive pressurized water for sealing, cooling, or cleaning. Mechanical seal chambers can also use flushing liquid to cool the sealing faces and remove deposits.

The final seal selection should be based on the liquid’s corrosiveness, temperature, crystallization risk, cleanliness, pressure, and leakage requirements. For liquids that crystallize easily, regular flushing is especially important.

Material Selection for Corrosive Media

The materials of the main pump components can be selected according to the operating environment. This allows the pump to serve different chemical media while helping control corrosion and service life.

When requesting a quotation, buyers should provide the liquid name and concentration, as well as its temperature, density, viscosity, pH, and solid content. Any special corrosion, hygiene, or contamination requirements should also be stated.

Material compatibility should always be confirmed before production. This is particularly important for acids, alkalis, solvents, salt solutions, and liquids that may react with standard metals or sealing materials.

Applications of the IH Chemical Centrifugal Pump

The IH pump is suitable for continuous liquid transfer and circulation in many industrial sectors, including:

  • Petroleum and petrochemical processing
  • Chemical production and liquid transfer
  • Metallurgical process systems
  • Power plant auxiliary systems
  • Pulp and paper production
  • Food processing lines
  • Pharmaceutical production
  • Synthetic fiber manufacturing
  • Industrial water treatment
  • Storage tank loading and unloading

Because the pump is intended for liquids without solid particles, a suitable filter should be installed when foreign matter may enter the suction line.

Installation and Operating Guidance

The pump should be installed on a level and stable foundation. The pump shaft and motor shaft must be aligned carefully after the base and anchor bolts are secured. In addition, the suction and discharge pipes should have independent supports. Pipeline weight must not be carried by the pump casing.

Before startup, the pump and suction pipe must be completely filled with liquid. Dry running should be avoided because it can damage the mechanical seal and other internal parts.

During operation, users should regularly monitor vibration, noise, bearing temperature, lubrication, discharge pressure, and seal leakage. Flow should not be controlled through the suction valve, as this may cause cavitation.

Long-term operation below 30% of the design flow is not recommended. If low-flow operation is unavoidable, a bypass line should be considered to keep the pump within a suitable operating range.

Custom Pump Selection and Manufacturing Support

Jiangsu Xiangsu Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. can match IH chemical centrifugal pumps to specific process conditions. Available project support may cover pump sizing, impeller selection, material matching, seal configuration, motor selection, base fabrication, and coupling protection.

To receive an accurate pump proposal, please provide:

  • Required flow and head
  • Liquid name and concentration
  • Operating and maximum temperature
  • Density and viscosity
  • Suction conditions
  • Required motor voltage and frequency
  • Preferred sealing method
  • Material requirements
  • Indoor or outdoor installation conditions

With complete operating data, the pump can be configured more accurately for efficiency, reliability, and easier maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the IH pump handle liquids containing solid particles?

The standard IH pump is designed for clean liquids without solid particles. Another pump type may be required for slurry, crystals, fibers, or abrasive media.

Can it transfer liquids above 105°C?

The standard medium temperature range reaches 105°C. Higher-temperature service may be possible with suitable cooling, seals, materials, and bearing arrangements.

Is a mechanical seal available?

Yes. Single, double, balanced, or unbalanced mechanical seals can be selected according to the application.

Does maintenance require removing the pipework?

The back pull-out design allows the rotor assembly to be withdrawn without removing the pump casing from the connected pipeline.

How should the correct model be selected?

Model selection should be based on flow, head, liquid properties, temperature, suction conditions, material compatibility, seal requirements, and motor specifications.
